Who we are
Hello! I’m Linda, a qualified specialist teacher and assessor with experience of supporting children from 4 to 16 in both school and home settings.
I have 32 years’ experience as a teacher and have worked with children with a range of complex needs and learning styles.
I am a fully qualified UK teacher, a professional member of the British Dyslexia Association and hold a current Assessment Practising Certificate (APC). Additionally, I have a level 5 qualification in teaching learners with Specific Learning Difficulties and a level 7 Diploma in Dyslexia; Assessment, Literacy, Support and Intervention. I hold an enhanced DBS certificate (Disclosure and Barring Service) and professional liability and idemnity insurance.
The majority of my immediate family live with dyslexia and I have seen at first hand the many strengths and challenges it brings.
I strongly believe dyslexia is not a weakness but a different way of learning and processing information. My teaching experience has shown me anyone can learn and make progress, the trick is to find the methods, pace and hook that suit each student. I believe in nurturing each child’s unique strengths by providing personalised attention, tailored to their needs. I can support you in understanding the wonderful world of dyslexia and encourage your child to become a confident, motivated and successful life long learner.
